Major League Hacking (MLH) is looking for someone to join our growing family and New York City office as our Finance Manager. You will be responsible for the administration of MLH’s business.

Every year, MLH helps hundreds of community leaders around the world organize events for over 135,000 technologists and innovators. 

You’ll manage our bookkeeping, administrative needs, and various other projects to ensure that MLH can run successfully and that our team is well supported. You will be essential to the function of the business ensuring that we understand how we’re doing and that we are doing the things we need to function as a business

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Duties and Responsibilities)

  • End-to-End Accounting - You’ll be responsible for ensuring our books are kept correct and up to date, financials are produced monthly, and financial processes are followed. You’ll handle AP, AR, reconcillation, coordinate tax preparation, reporting, record management.

  • Reporting - You'll work with the senior management of MLH to understand the health and operations of the business and answer key questions that will inform what we do next.

  • Administrative Projects - As the financial and administrative center of the business, you’ll be well situated to take on projects that touch every aspect of the business. These might include: selecting insurance, ensuring organization wide compliance with new laws, or finding new vendors.

  • 4+ years of experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role

  • Experience in Quickbooks Online a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Process driven and detail oriented personality

  • Exceptional organizational ability

  • Ability to create strong connections
